Inkless Printer Inside Your Mobile or Camera
ZINK Imaging is up to finish off all mobiles and other gadgets owners. We hardly managed to get used to a digital camera in every mobile phone, when ZINK is getting another surprise – built-in color printer for mobiles.
The soonest, the company expects to present an authentic printing technology, using no inks, cartridges or printing ribbons. The patented development included in exposition of the company at DEMO 07, revolutionary changes the very concept of printing – the image on paper appears “without a single drop of ink.”
The answer is simple. It’s all about special paper ZINK. The paper already has and is expected to receive all-in-all 100 patents. Dry crystals of colouring agent are incorporated in structure of paper and activated with warmth, emitted by printhead of the printer. The crystals are hued forming a “high-quality, long-lasting, durable and inexpensive image.”
Mobile gadgets have been selected as initial field of implementation of the technology. Later during this year, partners of ZINK Imaging are release first products using the technology. It’s expected that they would bring the color printing where we couldn’t even imagine before – pocket digital cameras and mobile phones.
